How to Recognize CAPS (Cryopyrin-Associated Periodic Syndrome)

Diagnosing Your Loved One

While it is obvious that someone you care about is suffering, you may not know why. It is difficult recognizing a condition called CAPS when the symptoms so often resemble other illnesses.

  • However, in CAPS patients, symptoms are chronic in nature and keep coming back

It might even take a doctor some time to think the symptoms might be CAPS because it is not a condition the doctor sees every day.

The table below may help you to identify some of the symptoms of CAPS:

Since only a physician can determine if your loved one has CAPS, be sure to bring your loved one to a doctor right away to discuss all of their symptoms.
